Ahhhh, Winter Wonderland!

I woke up today to the most beautiful morning! It started out kind of foggy, but once the fog lifted and the sun came out, WOW! Every branch was covered with about 1/2 inch of sparkling frost, and when a light breeze came up, that frost started falling in huge flakes. Since Chuck was up north, I called my neighbor and we set off on a hike in this winter wonderland.

Ths snow banks are so huge that the mailboxes are like caves in the snow. See the one in the lower right corner?

We were in awe as we walked around our cul de sac!

It was a little nippy, but we decided to walk down our hill to the Cannon Valley Trail access.

The trail to the left (towards town) is plowed, although I don't think anyone will be sitting on that Rotary bench for awhile!
The trail to the right heads towards Welch along the river and is groomed for cross country skiiers.

We decided to stick to the plowed section. Hard to believe this is just 1 block away from houses, streets, and cars. I was just about to try some close-ups of the shrubs and trees when...my camera battery died. Darn! No more frost pictures for me! Within about an hour of our return home, all the frost was gone and the trees just looked bare again. I'm going skiing tomorrow - maybe it will be frosty again!

Painting....again

Jenna definitely has the pregnancy nesting syndrome! We painted the baby's room over Christmas break and started some prep on the hall, but ran out of time. I headed up on Sunday to help finish the job.

There isn't much room in the hall for maneuvering, but we got done in record time, and it felt so clean and fresh!

I wouldn't let Jenna on the ladder, so she did the inside of the arches to the kitchen and living room, and most of the rolling. No climbing for her!
Check out the belly shot - 27 weeks...

and she can still squat!
We even had time to do the hall to the upstairs. Next on her list for me is to make curtains for the baby's room. Maybe next week!

Alumni Tournament

Corey's high school basketball team, Class of 1997, did it again! They are once again the Alumni Tournament Champions! They are all 30 or 31 years old now, but the young whippersnappers can't keep up with them. Way to go, guys!
I did a little searching and came up with a few old team pictures to show how they have grown and changed.
This is probably from 5th or 6th grade. There's Corey in the front row, 4th from the left.
This is 9th grade. Corey is in the 2nd row, right end.
And here they are now. Corey is in the front row, second from the left. Is Corey a shrimp, or is Josh a giant next to him? Must have been a goofy camera angle!
Hmmmm, do I notice a few receding hairlines?

Corey and Maddox had a little floor time after the last game. Maddox's dribbling skills need some work, but give him a few years!

I don't think Corey could ever jump this high in high school.

Yeah, Maddox - dunk that ball, or will Corey dunk Maddox?!

Corey and his buddy, Matt, and their kids.
These guys have so much fun playing together, and we really enjoy a little bleacher time, too. It's kind of a parent reunion in the stands, as well.
Congrats, guys. See you next year!
