Jenna decided that Charlie really needed to see Santa, so a few days before Christmas, we headed to Mall of America, hoping it wouldn't be too crowded. We grabbed some food at Noodles and then got in line. Charlie watched as other kids sat on Santa's lap, some crying and others smiling.
"Are you kidding? You want me to sit on that guy's lap?"
We had taken off his shirt while he ate, and we practically had to pin him to the ground to get his sweater back on him.
There, all set and almost Charlie's turn.
The decorations distracted him for a while.
Finally, it was time, and Jenna handed him off to the big hairy man in the red suit.
"Mama! Come back!"
(Santa looks totally bored - I think he'd probably had his fill of screaming babies for one season.)
"Let me out of here!"
"Ahhh, that's better - Mama came back, and he even gave me a sucker."
"Yeah! That's over for another year!"
Look at that huge smile - guess he wasn't too traumatized.
